Axes
Battle Axe
An axe with a blade on both sides of the rod. It came in single and double handed forms (Mahabal). There were also other forms, one of which had a trailing back spike. This gives the rider/soldier a choice of cutting or penetrating power. The other forms had curves to increase the surface area when cutting (Alvarez).
Mace
A spiked steel war club. They may be simple or ornate, made of wood or metal .
Halberd
A pole with an axe blade on it, along with a spear point at the top and a spike on the base (Mahabal).
