Babies
Babies had a bad chance of surviving during this era. Many died before their first birthday, as the living conditions were dirt and disease spread like wildfire. Mothers carried their babies in swaddling bands. The picture to the left is a drawing of a baby, drawn in this era, showing how babies were dressed. As shown in the picture, babies used teething rings, much like modern babies, as well as a safety-pin like contraption to hold the babies diaper together.
